With more than 20 years of experience in the industry, writer, director, producer, playwright, actor, and studio owner Tyler Perry is bringing his latest film, A Jazzman’s Blues, to TIFF.
In addition to bringing his latest film, he will also feature as a keynote speaker as part of TIFF’s Visionaries lineup during the Industry Conference, where he will explore his long-standing reputation for bringing distinct visions to life on both the big screen and the small screen.
Throughout his illustrious career, so far, Tyler’s films have received 19 Academy Award nominations, as well as two Golden Globes, six Grammy Awards, five NAACP Image Awards, a Peabody Award, and a Producers Guild of America Award. His films have grossed more than $1 billion at the domestic box office. Perry’s wide-spanning career has set him apart as a creator that embodies the core attributes of a visionary in the entertainment industry today.
Visionaries, will be moderated by Nekesa Mumbi Moody from The Hollywood Reporter (THR). The session starts at 10:00 AM and will be held at the Canadian Broadcasting Centre on Sunday September 11, 2022.
